Porthleven Town Council are seeking funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other sources to renovate the Bickford-Smith Institute (the clock tower by the pier) for community use.

Work up to this stage has been completed by a voluntary Working Party set up by the Town Council, alongside local heritage consultants funded by the HLF’s Resilience fund.

The feasibility study has now been completed, following consultation with the community, and a lengthy report, including initial proposed designs, have been presented to the National Lottery Heritage Fund. We’re now getting ready to begin the fundraising stage of the process.

On this page you can download the consultation materials we produced and shared with the community over Easter weekend 2019, as well as proposed designs for the layout of the building (please note these are only a starting point and are subject to changes).
